How to Grow Titanopsis from Seeds

Growing Titanopsis and other Living Stones Succulents from seeds is a great way to propagate them. It’s pretty exciting to cultivate your own Titanopsis plants from seeds. Just a heads up, Titanopsis seeds are really small. That’s why we package our Succulent seeds in a tiny paper bag inside a zip-lock bag. Each bag comes with a label. No rush on sowing your seeds right away. You can keep Titanopsis seeds for a few years in a cool, dark, and dry spot inside the zip-lock bag.

Titanopsis Seed Germination Substrate
For germinating Titanopsis seeds, you’ll need a fine soil mix that drains well. A good mix for Titanopsis germination would be half regular potting soil (just make sure to take out any big pieces of peat) and half fine gravel or pumice (1-3 mm).

Titanopsis Sowing Containers
Make sure your seed sowing containers have small drainage holes. You can use either containers or seed germination trays. I prefer using trays that are 6.5 cm deep. You need enough depth for the roots to grow properly, and it’s also important that the soil dries out quickly after watering.ty to look at but also great for gardens, attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies.

Planting Titanopsis
Start by filling your container or tray with a seed germination mix. Evenly distribute the seeds over the soil surface. Next, sprinkle a light layer of fine gravel (1-3 mm) over the seeds. Use a spray bottle or similar tool to mist the seed tray with water. Ensure the soil is moist and allow any extra water to drain out through the holes at the bottom.

Titanopsis Germination
To get your Titanopsis seeds to sprout, they need some indirect bright light, warmth (around 20C-24C), and high humidity in the air. The top layer of gravel will create a nice little micro-climate for the seeds to germinate. Plus, it’ll help support the young seedlings once they start growing. You can cover the seed tray with a clear lid to boost humidity. Do this if the room where you're germinating the seeds is pretty dry. After a week, take the lid off. The Titanopsis seeds should start to germinate in about 2 weeks.

Watering Titanopsis Seedlings
At first, your Titanopsis seedlings will be tiny. You’ll notice little green or yellow dots peeking through the gravel. Make sure to keep the air humidity high by misting them with water every day. Give the seedlings lots of fresh air. As they grow bigger, you can gradually lower the humidity and cut back on watering. This helps the plants develop a strong root system. Just be careful not to keep the plant tray too wet for too long, as that can lead to rot and mold.
